This year's Mysuru Dasara preparations: 17 sub-committees formed: Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah

Mysuru: For the successful organization of the Mysuru Dasara festival, 17 sub-committees have been formed, and the chairmen have been given the responsibility, informed Urban Development Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking to media persons after the Dasara Executive Committee meeting held at the District Panchayat office on Monday, where he shared the major decisions taken in the meeting and the preparations for Dasara.

The Dasara festival will be organized in an orderly manner with 17 sub-committees. Each committee will have a chairman and members appointed.

Discussions are underway to organize 'Kambala', a folk sport from the coastal region, this time during Dasara. If Kambala is confirmed, an 18th sub-committee will be formed for it. The 'Cycling Velodrome' area near the foothills of Chamundi Hill is being considered for Kambala, and a decision will be made after the final instructions from the Chief Minister.

Several dignitaries' names have been suggested by the MLAs for the inauguration of Dasara. However, the Chief Minister will decide who to invite finally.

Among the ongoing flyover, white topping, and national highway works in Mysuru city, the works that can be completed before Dasara have been instructed to be completed immediately. Long-term works that will not be completed by Dasara will be stopped during the festival days to facilitate smooth movement for the public and tourists.

This time, the drone show will be organized in a more innovative way. Additionally, an air show will also be held if permission is obtained from the Central Government.

To avoid confusion in the 'Gold Pass' for viewing Dasara, passes will be printed according to the number of seats and given to the public who purchase them by paying the fee. It has been decided not to give free Gold Passes to VIPs.

Although officials are engaged in Dasara and SIR works, they have been instructed to ensure that there is no disruption to the daily public works.
