DK Shivakumar's meeting with MPs in Delhi is praiseworthy

New Delhi: The meeting of Karnataka MPs in Delhi under the leadership of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is now being praised, and there is appreciation for a bipartisan approach in the matter of development.

Holding a meeting with MPs from the state during the monsoon session is an old tradition. However, this practice had not been followed for several years. There was only an exchange of allegations between the MPs and the state government on the issue of development. But D.K. Shivakumar has put an end to this enmity by holding a meeting with the MPs and promising to show unity in the matter of the state's development.

Many MPs and Union Ministers who attended the meeting emphasized the need for bipartisan cooperation in the development of the state. The representatives of various parties praised the intention of the meeting and the move of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to include everyone. Some members opined that it was for the first time that such a large number of Karnataka MPs had gathered on one platform. The meeting's meticulous organization was also praised.

The meeting expressed the opinion that it is necessary to collectively draw the Center's attention to various issues, including pending projects related to Karnataka's development, pending grants, and necessary assistance for flood management. The members responded positively to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's call to work together, forgetting party differences.

The meeting was attended by several members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, including Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, V. Somanna, and Shobha Karandlaje. MPs from various parties, including Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murthy, were present at the meeting.

Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and H.D. Kumaraswamy, Rajya Sabha members Mallikarjun Kharge, Jaggesh, Lehr Singh, and Dr. Veerendra Heggade could not attend the meeting due to prior commitments and had informed about it earlier.

Overall, the meeting, which emphasized bipartisan cooperation and coordination in the development of the state, was successful, and there was a resolve to collectively present Karnataka's major demands before the Center.
